The Nature Conservancy seeks a Project Manager, GCF Funding Proposal Development for the anticipated Green Climate Fund (GCF) Project Preparation Facility (PPF) funding to TNC (as the Accredited Entity) to develop a Funding Proposal.
The Project Manager is responsible for project management and coordination of the development of a Funding Proposal to the GCF for the project titled “Climate-resilient watersheds and communities through nature-based solutions and innovative financing in the Dominican Republic (CRe W-DR)”, supported through a PPF grant from the GCF. The PPF provides financial and technical support through grants, both reimbursable and non-reimbursable, as well as equity, to support the development of high-quality project and programme funding proposals for submission to the GCF.
The Project Manager is part of The Nature Conservancy (TNC)’s Dominican Republic Program within TNC’s Caribbean Division and will report to the Project Lead.
The CRe W-DR project aims to enhance climate resilience for vulnerable communities in the Dominican Republic's Yaque del Norte watershed, La Yeguada watershed, and Miches coastal municipality, which face escalating climate risks including droughts, floods, tropical storms, sea-level rise, and increasing temperatures. The project will utilise an integrated approach combining ecosystem-based adaptation with innovative climate finance mechanisms to implement nature-based solutions including forest and mangrove restoration, riparian buffer establishment, agroforestry and silvopastoral systems, soil and water conservation practices, and sustainable coastal vegetation management.
